About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is hiring a Security Guard to provide professional, customer-focused security and life-safety services for people and property. The role supports the company’s goal of delivering high-quality security services and requires a visible, professional presence at the assigned facility or building. The officer helps maintain a safe environment by monitoring activity, controlling access, conducting patrols, responding according to established procedures, and documenting incidents. Duties may vary depending on the customer location.

Requirements

Hold security officer licenses mandated by the state or municipality.
Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
Have reliable means of communication and transportation.
Have strong interpersonal communication skills and a neat, professional appearance.
Be able to write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reports.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in contract security, law enforcement, the military, or customer service.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic and recognize customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
Answer phones professionally.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
Learn and enforce facility or building policies and procedures within the limits of the position.
Conduct required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Observe departing personnel to help prevent theft of company property and ensure property is removed with appropriate authorization.
Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
Monitor alarms and systems.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
