Security Guard Full Time Patrol Emergency Preparedness
About The Position
As a full-time unarmed patrol officer at a technology-focused location in Chesapeake, Virginia, you will help safeguard clients and provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors. The role involves routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control, and responding to security concerns and emergencies. You will communicate with visitors and team members, follow site-specific procedures, and report incidents and observations. The schedule lists daytime shifts from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Pay is $19.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any licensing requirements imposed by applicable state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Experience with access control and badges is preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating information through established site communication channels.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter; identify and report unusual activity, facility concerns, and policy violations.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports about incidents, patrol observations, and daily activities.
