About The Position

The Security Guard helps protect Farmer Focus team members, visitors, facilities, products, and operations by maintaining a visible security presence and supporting compliance with company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies. The position monitors facility access, conducts routine patrols, supports traffic and parking lot control, documents visitor activity, and assists with incident response and evacuation procedures. It helps maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment that supports daily production and business continuity. Work is performed in and around a poultry processing and manufacturing facility, both indoors and outdoors. The role requires regular patrols of production areas, parking lots, building perimeters, trailers, and facility grounds. The Security Guard may encounter varying weather, live poultry, raw and cooked products, dust, feathers, cleaning chemicals, wet or slippery surfaces, and varying noise levels. Temperatures may range from approximately 28°F to 100°F depending on the work area and season. Travel between both plants may be needed. The position may require days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to support operations and security coverage.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Demonstrated professional attitude and strong attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively and remain composed under stressful situations.
Ability to perform assigned tasks without direct supervision.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to navigate varying terrain in all weather conditions and go up and down stairs as needed.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must pass a post-offer drug and alcohol test before starting employment.
Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required by the end of the third day of work.
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, patrol varying terrain, monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and respond to incidents or emergencies.
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods, walk long distances, conduct facility inspections, and maintain alertness throughout the shift.
Occasional ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Must wear required personal protective equipment based on work location and duties.

Nice To Haves

Prior security experience is preferred but not required.
Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Observe, support, and enforce company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies throughout assigned work areas.
Conduct hourly security rounds to check trailer temperatures, trailer doors, facility doors, and designated egress points.
Monitor team members, visitors, vehicles, and car traffic entering and exiting the facility.
Log all visitors entering the facility and follow established visitor control procedures.
Monitor parking lots, issue parking tickets for noncompliance as needed, and direct traffic during shift changes.
Control traffic and assist with evacuation procedures during emergencies, drills, or processing plant evacuation events.
Conduct and document incident investigations in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain a professional attitude and communicate clearly and effectively with team members, visitors, and leaders, including during stressful situations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
