About The Position

As a part-time, unarmed Security Officer at an educational location in Minneapolis, Minnesota, you will help safeguard students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners. You will patrol assigned campus areas, maintain a visible professional presence, assist with access control, respond to incidents and requests for assistance, and provide customer service and clear communication. The position is scheduled for daytime shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The pay rate is $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
Report unusual conditions, hazards, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, requests for assistance, and critical situations.
Monitor access points and observe activity in assigned areas to help deter unauthorized access and disruptive conduct.
Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and concerns to appropriate personnel in accordance with site policies.
