About The Position

Security Guard Officers are hired in the Houston, Texas 77002 area. The listed schedule is Monday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Security officers protect premises and personnel through patrols, surveillance monitoring, inspections, access control, reporting, and communication with management or emergency services when needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old or meet the minimum age required by the state.
• Have a valid Guard Card.
• Have strong written and oral English communication abilities.
• Be responsible, flexible, and dependable.
• Have access to reliable transportation.
• Present a positive, confident, and professional image.
• Successfully complete all training required for the position.
• Be able to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Be drug free.

Responsibilities

• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property.
• Monitor surveillance equipment.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points, and permit entry.
• Sound alarms to obtain help.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
• Restrain trespassers when necessary, identify risks, and notify the appropriate management authority or 911/police.
• Complete reports recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
• Maintain a written log of daily activities for each shift.
