About The Position

As a Security Guard Armed Patrol Readiness in Queens, NY, you will safeguard clients in a government transit environment. You will conduct routine armed patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide customer service and communication. The role requires a Law Enforcement Officer License and is part-time. The schedule lists Monday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and Tuesday 11:00 PM–7:00 AM. Pay is $34.70–$35.70 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to transit personnel, passengers, and visitors while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned transit facilities, platforms, stations, yards, access points, and surrounding perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors in accordance with established procedures.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, coordinating with transit personnel and emergency responders as needed.
Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for patrol observations, incidents, and unusual activity.
