About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Guard Flex Armed Patrol in New York, NY. The role safeguards clients across a range of industries and provides hands-on experience in diverse work environments. The position involves 30–40 hours per week. Schedules vary week to week and combine manager-assigned shifts with shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and the officer may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to support client needs. The role offers exposure to a variety of sites and opportunities for advancement.

Requirements

• Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be able to travel required distances.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, subject to applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver's license for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
