About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Branch Flex Officer to safeguard clients across a range of industries. The armed patrol deployment role is based in New York, NY and involves working at changing sites and assignments. Employees work 30–40 hours per week on a schedule that varies week to week, combining manager-assigned shifts with shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and irregular shifts may be assigned with little to no advance notice to meet client needs. The position offers exposure to varied sites and opportunities for career growth and advancement.

Requirements

• Possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
• Possess a valid law enforcement officer license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, as permitted by applicable law.
• Submit to a drug screen, to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations, potentially before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
