About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex Armed Patrol Readiness employee in New York, NY. The position provides security coverage across varying client sites and industries. Officers work 30–40 hours per week, with schedules that vary based on manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and the role may involve irregular shifts with little to no advance notice. Officers must be adaptable, dependable, available for last-minute scheduling, and willing to travel the required distance for assignments.

The role offers exposure to a variety of sites, hands-on experience, and opportunities for career advancement. The hourly pay rate is $33.28–$34.28. Applicants must meet the stated armed-role licensing and age qualifications and participate in industry-specific security training. Employment is contingent on applicable background investigation and drug screening.

Requirements

• Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be willing to travel the required distance for Branch Flex assignments.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in cases of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary according to site Post Orders.
