About The Position

As a Security Guard Access Control in Topeka, Kansas, you will serve and safeguard clients at a food and beverage manufacturing location. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide customer service and communication to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel. Your visible presence helps deter security-related incidents while supporting a welcoming environment. This is a full-time position paying $17.16 per hour. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements imposed by state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver's license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor badges, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
Support access control for deliveries, vendors, and contractors, including directing individuals to designated check-in areas and communicating relevant requirements.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; escalate concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, the facility perimeter, parking areas, and surrounding business areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
