About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer for a technology campus in Manhattan, New York. The role serves and safeguards clients and may involve assignments across different industries. Officers use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on availability, with opportunities to gain site experience. The position may require working irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. The stated pay rate is $22.00 per hour, and the position offers multiple shifts, including day, swing, evening, and overnight, Monday through Sunday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by state law; 21 years of age if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, informatively, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
