About The Position

The Security Flex Officer maintains the overall security of assigned facilities by enforcing access control, observing and correcting violations, and reporting activity. Flex Officers provide coverage for vacancies and PTO and help meet operational demands, with open availability required. The role includes applying Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork in daily work. The listed rate is $15.00 per hour; the Flex Officer premium is tied to the position and responsibilities, and pay changes to the standard wage rate if the officer accepts a permanent site assignment.

Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting and may involve threatening situations or exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. Employees must be able to lift 50 pounds. Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, an MVR check when driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random drug screens.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be a high school graduate or hold a GED.
• Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
• Show patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people.
• Use initiative and sound judgment when evaluating and reacting to situations.
• Be able to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful, time-sensitive situations.
• Have good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
• Work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens; pass a clean MVR check if driving.
• Follow the dress code: tattoos must not be visible in the prescribed uniform, tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are not allowed, facial piercings must be removed while on duty, facial hair must be clean-shaven except for a mustache, and hair must be clean, neatly trimmed, and a natural color.

• Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
• Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
• Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
• Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
• Identify projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Enforce Sizemore’s and client’s policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
