About The Position

The Security Flex Officer assists with vacancies, paid-time-off coverage, and operational demands at various locations in Savannah and Brunswick, Georgia. The officer maintains the overall security of assigned facilities by enforcing access control, observing and correcting violations, and reporting issues. The listed rate is $17.00 per hour; if a Flex Officer accepts a permanent site assignment, pay transitions to the standard wage rate for that position.

Work takes place in climate-controlled buildings and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve threatening situations and exposure to bloodborne pathogens or bodily fluids. Uniform and grooming standards apply, including restrictions on visible tattoos and facial piercings.

Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random drug screens. A clean motor vehicle record is required if driving.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be a high school graduate or have a GED.
• Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
• Use patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people.
• Show initiative and sound judgment when evaluating and reacting to situations.
• Multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful, time-sensitive situations.
• Have good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
• Work with minimum supervision, comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Meet uniform and grooming standards: tattoos must not be visible in uniform; tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are not allowed; facial piercings must be removed while on duty; facial hair must be clean-shaven except for a mustache; and hair must be clean, neatly trimmed, and a natural color.
• Pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens; pass a clean motor vehicle record check if driving.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in security, the military, or law enforcement is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
• Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
• Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
• Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
• Identify projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
