About The Position

The Security Flex Officer maintains the overall security of assigned facilities by enforcing access control and observing, correcting, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer supports Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork in the daily performance of assigned responsibilities. This is an open-availability role that assists with vacancies, PTO coverage, and operational demands. The listed rate is $17.00 per hour; if the officer accepts a permanent site assignment, pay transitions to the standard wage rate associated with that position. Work takes place in a climate-controlled building and/or outside in various weather conditions. The role requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve threatening situations or exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. The officer must be able to lift 50 pounds. Uniform and appearance requirements include keeping tattoos covered (tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are not allowed), removing facial piercings while on duty, being clean-shaven except for a mustache, and keeping hair clean, neatly trimmed, and a natural color. Continued employment is dependent on passing a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random drug screens. A clean motor vehicle record is required if driving. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school graduate or recipient of a GED.
Demonstrate service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
Possess patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with people in any circumstances.
Possess initiative and sound judgment when evaluating and reacting to situations.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful and time-sensitive situations.
Good problem-solving skills and high attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
Ability to work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens; pass a clean MVR check if driving.
Meet the stated uniform and appearance requirements.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in security, the military, or law enforcement is preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office programs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Document security activity in a Daily Activity Report (DAR) and complete incident reports as required.
Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
Identify projects to increase effectiveness and efficiency and support a culture of continuous improvement.
Enforce Sizemore’s and the client’s policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Assist with vacancies, PTO coverage, and operational demands.
