About The Position

Join our prestigious Government Services team as a Security Consultant. In this role, you will be the main contact for security services, ensuring seamless integration and support for customers. You will provide expert guidance in a dynamic field, implementing innovative solutions that help customers utilize Akamai's security products effectively to meet objectives. The Government Services team serves United States and Canadian agencies, including Civilian, Department of Defense, State, Local, and Education sectors. By leveraging advanced web acceleration and security technologies, we work to enhance customer experiences through innovative solutions.

Requirements

2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Demonstrate experience with internet protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and TLS/SSL and how CDNs work
Have relevant customer facing experience within a consultative environment
Demonstrate knowledge of project management concepts and techniques
Have knowledge of implementation concepts that deal with web development, IT systems or security practice

Nice To Haves

Achieved or be interested in obtaining cyber security credentials such as Security+, SSCP, GSEC or others

Responsibilities

Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to understand customer use cases and tuning solutions to meet client needs
Partnering with sales teams internally to fully understand customer business needs in order to ensure their success
Participating on internal projects to contribute to best practices, improving our methodology and quality of solution delivery
Participating in training and projects contributing to best practices, maximizing efficiency, and improving methodology and service quality
