About The Position

The Security Associate provides a professional presence at store entrances and exits to deter theft by engaging with customers. The role monitors customer activity, responds quickly to alerts, validates receipts, recovers unpaid merchandise, and resolves alarms. It also helps keep team members and customers safe by identifying and resolving safety concerns, reducing store disruption through de-escalation and negotiation techniques, and documenting and communicating theft, safety, and alarm incidents.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
1–2 years of customer service or asset protection experience.
Clear and professional written and oral communication skills.
Ability to move actively throughout the work area for long periods and respond to alerts quickly and urgently.
Ability to learn and interact with new and existing technology solutions and use technology to document and communicate incidents.
Ability to learn and apply negotiation and de-escalation techniques.
Ability to work successfully with conflict.
Normal or corrected vision and hearing; ability to understand, speak, read, and write fluent English.
Ability to lift 0–25 lbs. regularly and use fine motor hand functions.
Physical ability for frequent standing, walking, crouching, bending, pushing, or pulling; occasional high levels of physical exertion; and limited sitting.
Ability to exit quickly from an escalating situation.

Maintain knowledge of product locations to direct customers.
