About The Position

The Security Associate maintains a professional presence at store entrances and exits to deter theft through customer engagement and awareness. The role involves responding promptly to alerts, checking receipts, recovering unpaid merchandise, and resolving alarms. The associate also helps keep customers and team members safe by identifying and addressing safety concerns, reducing store disruption using company de-escalation and negotiation techniques, and documenting and communicating theft, safety, and alarm incidents.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
1–2 years of customer service experience or asset protection experience.
Clear and professional written and oral communication skills.
Ability to actively move throughout the work area for long periods.
Ability to respond to alerts quickly and urgently.
Ability to learn and interact with new and existing technology solutions.
Ability to use technology to document and communicate incidents.
Ability to learn and apply negotiation and de-escalation techniques.
Ability to maintain knowledge of product locations to direct customers.
Ability to work successfully with conflict.
Limited sitting; frequent standing, walking, crouching, bending, pushing, or pulling.
Limited travel or overnight.
Normal or corrected vision and hearing.
Ability to understand, speak, read, and write fluent English.
Ability to regularly lift 0–25 lbs.
Use of fine motor hand functions.
Occasional high levels of physical exertion.
Ability to quickly exit from an escalating situation.
Occasionally work outdoors and be exposed to varying degrees of hot and cold environments and high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

Identify and quickly resolve unsafe conditions and situations.
Maintain an active presence and engage with customers entering and exiting the store to prevent theft.
Respond urgently to alerts to check receipts, recover unpaid merchandise, and resolve alarms.
Reduce store disruption by following company de-escalation and negotiation techniques.
Document and communicate theft, safety, and alarm activity incidents.
