About The Position

ACTS-Aviation Security, Inc. is hiring Security Agents at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Jamaica, New York. The role supports aviation security through inspections, cargo screening, aircraft monitoring, passenger wanding, gate guarding, and observation of facility activity. Agents may have opportunities for advancement within the company. The position reports to an Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager, depending on unit size. Activities are overseen by a Lead or Senior Lead, depending on unit size. The stated pay is $22.10 per hour. The role requires airport-issued badging credentials to access secured work areas and involves working in cold temperatures and nonstandard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Registered Security Guard with the New York Department of State.
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Ability to obtain and maintain airport-authority badging credentials for access to secured work areas.
Ability to bend, push, and regularly lift up to 30 pounds to perform essential job functions.
At least 18 years old.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
U.S. citizen.
Willingness to work in cold temperatures.
Written and oral communication skills in English.
Willingness to work nonstandard hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Inspect airline equipment and check for unauthorized items.
Screen cargo using the equipment and methods designated by the customer and according to customer specifications.
Perform aircraft monitoring, passenger wanding, and gate guarding according to customer specifications.
Observe and monitor unit activity and facility surroundings when not performing inspection or validation duties.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
