Journeyman Plumber - JFK Airport
About The Position
Unifi/ERMC Aviation is seeking a Plumbing Technician to install, repair, and maintain plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal at the airport. The role includes maintaining and repairing terminal plumbing systems and working with other trades and laborers to meet specifications and policies and complete projects efficiently in accordance with airport tenant requirements and ERMC standard operating procedures. The position is based at JFK Airport in Jamaica, New York. The job listing specifies full-time, non-exempt employment and identifies A.M., overnight, and P.M. shifts. The employee must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours depending on operational needs.
Requirements
- Current plumbing certification.
- Experience reviewing building plans and specifications to determine plumbing layouts and related materials.
- Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining public and non-public restrooms, potable water cabinets, drinking fountains, and water and sewage pipes.
- Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining water heaters and conditioners.
- Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining sinks, showers, toilets, plumbing fixtures, appliances, and trim.
- Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining water treatment equipment, piping, and controls.
- Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems, and clearing clogged sewers and drains.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to obtain and keep an airport security badge.
- Must have or be able to attain reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work in extreme conditions, including hot and cold weather and small spaces.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and extended hours depending on operational needs.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing used for airport water distribution and wastewater disposal.
- Repair and maintain terminal plumbing systems.
- Coordinate with other trades and laborers to ensure specifications and policies are met and projects are completed efficiently in accordance with airport tenant requirements and ERMC standard operating procedures.
- Review building plans and specifications to determine plumbing layouts and related materials.
- Install, repair, and maintain public and non-public restrooms, potable water cabinets, drinking fountains, and pipes carrying water and sewage.
- Install, repair, and maintain water heaters and conditioners.
- Install, repair, and maintain sinks, showers, toilets, plumbing fixtures, appliances, and trim.
- Install, repair, and maintain water treatment equipment, piping, and controls.
- Install, repair, and maintain underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems, and clear clogged sewers and drains.
