About The Position

Nosco is looking for a Second Pressman - Feeder at our Bridgeview, IL facility. This role is on our 24/6 Schedule, which consists of working 3 workdays, 12.25 hours per day, 36.75 hours per week. As an employee owner in this position, you will assist with setup and operation of multi-color press, complying with customer specifications while maintaining the high level of quality expectations. This position has the ability to grow into other opportunities in the pressroom or other departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read a ruler to 1/64"
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Physical requirements: Twisting, turning, squeezing, grasping, reaching, reaching over equipment, kneeling, crawling, pulling, extended periods of standing, ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Long periods of concentration.
  • Speaking, hearing and vision are also essentials to performing job functions.
  • High School Diploma / GED equivalency required.
  • Requires continuous standing & ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably +2 years of digital press experience or other technical skills operating machinery.
  • Experience with basic Quality systems and documentation.
  • Flexibility to work any shift and Overtime. Work in a fast-paced environment with ability to deal with change.
  • Shift flexibility, willingness to work overtime on short notice.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press per SOPs, work instructions, and control riders.
  • Actively monitor production efficiency and quality while completing all documentation and reporting accurately.
  • Troubleshoot machine problems as it pertains to equipment and set up. Perform testing as required and understand what corrective actions could be necessary to achieve passing results.
  • Assist in minimizing the scope of remakes (identifying problems in a timely fashion through attributing and effectively communicating with downstream operators).
  • Perform clean-up/maintenance tasks in accordance with company SOP.
  • Perform and sustain a high rate of productivity. Meet expectations for set up time and run speeds as established by the department leads.
  • Knowledge of printing and tools necessary to process jobs within specification.
  • Good mechanical and trouble shooting skills.
  • Ability to understand and achieve performance expectations from supervision and communicate back to the crew these requirements.
  • Must work in a safe manner on and around the press, reporting unsafe conditions or acts.
  • Detail orientated to complete all documentation correctly and identify defects from production.
  • Ability and aptitude to use computers and systems to perform tasks as required.
