About The Position

As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you will work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, collaborating with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for customers. You will help provide a quick and easy customer experience and keep the store clean and clutter-free. Team members may occasionally work in different areas of the store to maintain the sales floor and stockrooms and help customers find merchandise. Available departments include Sales, Customer Service, Stock, and Fulfillment; applicants can discuss their preferred role during the interview process. Sales and Customer Service work includes keeping the sales floor ready through re-merchandising and straightening, assisting customers with transactions across in-store, online, and mobile platforms, supporting fitting rooms, returning merchandise to the floor, organizing stockrooms, checking in and ticketing merchandise, using store technologies, following operational and asset-protection standards, and promoting Nordstrom Rewards. Stock Support and Fulfillment work includes receiving and unloading freight, unpacking and delivering merchandise to selling departments, fulfilling and shipping customer orders to quality standards, using inventory management systems to process and research shipments, maintaining clean and organized floors and stockrooms, and providing general store support such as preparing events, organizing the backroom, marking down merchandise, and relocating fixtures.

Ability to remain in continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
For Stock and Fulfillment roles, frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Keep the sales floor stocked, sized, and presentable through re-merchandising and straightening.
Assist customers with in-store, online, and mobile transactions; operate point-of-sale systems, bag items, and handle bulky or heavy merchandise.
Support fitting room operations by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the sales floor.
Keep the customer area clean and clutter-free by sorting and returning clothing to the sales floor.
Organize stockrooms and ensure merchandise is checked in and accurately ticketed.
Use technologies in the store environment and follow operational, merchandise, and asset-protection standards.
Promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Receive and unload freight, unpack merchandise, and deliver newly arrived items to selling departments.
Fulfill customer orders promptly and prepare and ship orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
Use inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments according to inventory-control processes.
Maintain clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing the backroom, completing markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
