About The Position

As a Seasonal Retail Selling Colleague, you combine results-focused selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable holiday shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, provide personalized recommendations, and connect them with appropriate products and services. You engage customers on the sales floor and in fitting rooms, use product knowledge and smart selling behaviors to meet sales goals, and help build customer trust and loyalty. You also help keep the shopping area clean, organized, and inviting. Seasonal colleagues are typically scheduled for 10–20 hours per week; hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.

• Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and ability to process register transactions.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and engage them in friendly, personal conversations to understand their needs and build customer relationships.
• Recommend products and services using product knowledge, current trends, promotions, and personalized service.
• Work toward daily sales goals and contribute to individual and store results.
• Share the benefits of the Macy’s Loyalty program, ensure customers have what they need, and thank them sincerely at the end of their visit.
• Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and ready for customers.
• Merchandise new receipts; process damages, testers, and selected merchandise for return to vendors; update signs and pricing; and support merchandise moves.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support one another in serving customers and communities.
• Review sales goals and learn about new arrivals and top-selling items.
• Use handheld equipment, computers, and cash registers to perform job functions and process transactions.
