Seasonal Retail Sales and Recovery Associate, Newport Centre - Jersey City
About The Position
As a Retail Sales & Recovery Colleague, you help create a welcoming shopping experience through genuine hospitality and attention to detail. You keep the store clean, organized, and visually engaging by maintaining merchandise displays, tidying fitting rooms, and ensuring the sales floor is customer-ready. You offer friendly, personal service and support your team in achieving sales goals. The role includes preparing the sales floor, reviewing goals and promotions, welcoming and assisting customers, recovering the sales floor and fitting rooms, updating signs and pricing, and supporting merchandise moves. Colleagues share loyalty-program benefits, help customers complete their purchases, and collaborate with coworkers to deliver strong individual and store results. This is a seasonal position at Macy’s Newport Centre in Jersey City. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled for 30 or more hours per week, and part-time colleagues for 12–24 hours per week; actual hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
Requirements
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
- Have flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
- Be resourceful, adaptable to changing priorities, able to work independently, and effective as part of a team.
- Be comfortable using electronic devices.
- Be able to talk, lift, move constantly, stand, and reach with arms and hands.
- Stand for at least two consecutive hours and lift at least 25 pounds.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and reaching, including above eye level, are required.
- Have close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
