About The Position

Tecovas is hiring a Seasonal Sales Associate for its Houston City Centre store. The role supports the store leadership team in creating an exceptional customer experience, particularly during high-volume holiday shopping periods. The associate serves customers on the sales floor by greeting and assisting them, selling products, sharing product knowledge, handling transactions, restocking, and maintaining the shop. This is a temporary seasonal role expected to begin in late September 2026 and continue through early January 2027. The schedule must be flexible and include extended holiday hours, which may involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, and key holiday periods. A permanent Sales Associate opportunity may become available after the season, depending on performance and business needs. The role requires regular standing and walking, reaching overhead, bending, squatting, kneeling, and regularly lifting up to 30 pounds. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. The hourly rate is $16; actual compensation depends on skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Exceptional selling, customer service, and clientele skills.

Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and reach overhead, bend, squat, and kneel while organizing and stocking inventory.
Ability to regularly lift up to 30 pounds.
Reliable transportation.
Availability to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), evenings, and holidays as needed.
Flexible availability for extended holiday hours, including possible early morning shifts and key holiday events.

Responsibilities

Support a sales-driven environment focused on genuine customer experience and demonstrate exceptional service standards.
Support the store team with receiving shipments and preparing products for floor placement.
Plan, track, and communicate in-transit shipment information to the leadership team.
Perform customer customizations after receiving hands-on training.
Maintain an efficient, well-organized stockroom that is accessible to employees.
Assist with or lead restocking to maintain store inventory levels.
Demonstrate loss-prevention awareness by assisting with cycle counts and transfers.
Participate in ongoing staff education and share product knowledge.
Assist with maintaining the building facilities.
Assist customers through greeting, selling, product knowledge, cash wrap, restocking, and general shopkeeping.
