Seasonal Resort Associate - Lake Buena Vista
About The Position
Pet Paradise is hiring a Seasonal Resort Associate to care for pets at its Lake Buena Vista resort. The associate supervises and interacts with pets indoors and in outdoor play yards, follows feeding instructions, maintains clean suites and common areas, monitors and records pet information, reports unusual behavior or injuries, and uses safe dog-handling practices in accordance with training and resort policies. The role involves substantial physical work, including pet handling, walking, cleaning, and suite maintenance, and requires schedule flexibility for days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times. Pet Paradise describes its resorts as providing a safe, entertaining environment with attentive care for pets. The company offers development opportunities through leadership, dog training, and grooming academies, along with pet-related and other employee benefits. The company operates in ten states and has more than 60 locations in operation or under development.
Requirements
- Have a true passion for working with animals.
- Maintain a cheerful, friendly, positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Be comfortable around dogs of all sizes and physically able to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Be flexible to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
- Be able to receive instructions and adapt to change and training material.
- Be able to perform considerable physical labor, including pet handling, walking, cleaning, and suite maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and interact with pets inside the resort and outside in play yards.
- Follow instructions regarding pets’ feeding times, amounts, and types of food.
- Maintain cleanliness of suites and dog runs by disinfecting, washing floors, scrubbing walls, and removing animal waste.
- Empty trash, mop floors, and clean restrooms, common areas, and the employee breakroom.
- Monitor and record important information about pets and report unusual behaviors, injuries, or other critical information to management and veterinarian services when applicable.
- Use proper dog-handling techniques as instructed by management.
- Keep dogs secure and maintain pet safety by following training policies.
