Seasonal Fulfillment Associate, China Grove - Part Time
About The Position
As a Warehouse Colleague, you help create a seamless, customer-focused experience behind the scenes by receiving, storing, picking, packing, sorting, and shipping merchandise. You handle items carefully and safely, maintain a clean and organized warehouse, and support a positive, respectful atmosphere for teammates. Your work contributes to on-time delivery and excellent service for customers and colleagues. The role involves loading and unloading merchandise, processing and shipping orders, using computers and handheld devices, and following safety procedures. Colleagues are expected to prioritize customers, work with speed and accuracy, support coworkers, and keep their work area and equipment in order. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week; actual hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
Requirements
- No education or experience required.
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays; regular, reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and switch among multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing customer expectations and needs.
- Proficiency using computers and handheld technology.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, up to 12 hours excluding breaks; frequently use computers and handheld electronic equipment; reach above eye level, crouch, kneel, stoop, push, and pull; and lift and move items weighing up to 50–75 pounds.
- Ability to use close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment, and to hear and see safety and emergency alarms and Power Industrial Truck warning devices.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload cartons and merchandise from and to delivery trucks, conveyor systems, and other equipment.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull packages continuously and repetitively while sorting and organizing merchandise.
- Complete processing, receiving, and shipping activities on time and in accordance with productivity standards.
- Accurately enter data using PCs, handheld computers, radio frequency equipment, or similar devices, and learn area-specific warehouse and proprietary systems.
- Perform job functions safely and promptly report accidents or safety hazards to the safety committee.
- Prepare for shifts by wearing a name badge, following the dress code, attending start-ups, checking the work area, and staying informed about daily goals and available support.
- Prioritize customers by working quickly and accurately, handling merchandise carefully, and packing customer orders neatly and thoughtfully.
- Build respectful working relationships by greeting colleagues, communicating with them, helping new teammates, and supporting coworkers.
- Tidy the workstation at the end of the shift, return equipment, replenish supplies, and recognize coworkers' contributions.
- Foster acceptance and respect and build authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
