About the position

The role of Seasonal Experience Support at CAMP is a part-time position that involves providing exceptional customer service and creating a memorable retail experience for families. Reporting to the General Manager, the main responsibilities include engaging with customers, demonstrating and playing with products, customizing shopping experiences, facilitating family programs and events, and adhering to health and safety protocols. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in retail, child care, or performing arts, as well as a passion for engaging with children and families creatively. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift and stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming every guest with a custom greeting and performing a magic door entrance
  • Playing with and engaging families as they explore the CAMP experience
  • Demoing and playing with products
  • Customizing personal shopping experiences for each family based on their interests
  • Engaging in conversations with families to introduce relevant items and encourage purchases
  • Checking families out at the register and informing them about upcoming programs or news
  • Facilitating family programs and events, including crafting, reading books, setting up supplies, and assisting families
  • Adhering to CAMP's COVID-19 health and safety protocols
  • Using professional judgement to decide which products to demo and what stories to tell families
  • Reporting to the General Manager of the home store location
  • Ability to work at least one weekend day per week, ideally both
  • Ability to work at least 20 hours per week, potentially up to 29 hours based on business needs and availability
  • Prior work experience in retail, child care, child development/education, or performing arts
  • Excellence, enthusiasm, and excitement in engaging with children and families creatively
  • Desire to be part of a tight-knit team transforming the traditional retail experience
  • Patience, warmth, joy, and humor
  • Bonus: Hidden talents that can add magical moments to the retail experience
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States
  • Ability to stock merchandise and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelving at various heights
  • Exposure to outdoor elements.

Requirements

  • Ability to work at least one weekend day/week, but ideally both
  • Ability to work at least 20 hours per week (could flex up to 29 hours per week based on business needs and your availability)
  • Prior work experience in any of the following areas: retail, child care, child development/education, performing arts
  • Excellence, enthusiasm, and excitement around engaging with children and families creatively
  • Desire to be part of a tight-knit team looking to transform the traditional retail experience
  • Patience, warmth, joy, and humor
  • Bonus but not required: you may have hidden talents that can add magical moments to our retail experience
  • You are authorized to work lawfully in the United States
  • Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights (may be climbing up and down a ladder)
  • Exposure to outdoor elements
