About The Position

At Nordstrom, customers build the brand, and employees contribute to its culture and reputation by providing excellent service, working as a team, and meeting sales goals. This professional sales role in Women's Apparel is for someone who enjoys fashion, building customer relationships, and helping customers find clothing for everyday life and special occasions. The role offers commission-based earning potential. Sales employees help customers build wardrobes by listening to their needs, offering styling suggestions, following up about new arrivals, sharing fit and fashion knowledge, and recommending alterations or tailoring when appropriate. Employees deliver Nordstrom's 5-Point Selling Standard, build a personal customer base through in-store interactions, outreach, and digital tools, and work toward personal sales goals. They help keep the department customer-ready, stay current on merchandise and trends, and contribute to a positive and productive team environment. The schedule varies according to business needs and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, event shifts, peak periods, and occasional support of other departments. The role requires continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching, and frequent hand use for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling. Employees handle bulky or awkward merchandise, including items lifted overhead, regularly lift up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
