Seasonal Chemical & Fertilizer Operation Laborer
About The Position
As a Seasonal Operator, you will provide quality products and services in operations that help member owners of River Valley Cooperative succeed financially in their farming operations and support a sustainable local cooperative that serves member needs. This role involves operating, maintaining, and cleaning equipment and vehicles; handling and delivering bulk and packaged chemicals; and potentially loading or unloading grain from storage bins or transportation. The employee may also perform other related duties as needed to meet the organization’s ongoing needs. Requirements
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in agriculture or a related field is preferred.
- CDL or Seasonal CDL is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain equipment and vehicles.
- Handle and deliver bulk and packaged chemicals.
- May load and unload grain from storage bins or transportation.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections.
- Clean and maintain equipment.
- Operate heavy machinery, such as an end loader or skid steer.
- Follow OSHA, DOT, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Follow housekeeping practices to keep facilities neat and clean.
- Perform other related duties as needed to meet the organization’s ongoing needs.
