About The Position

Health Advocate is seeking a Seasonal Benefits Associate to join their team from August through December 2026. This role focuses on simplifying healthcare and empowering individuals to make informed choices about their benefits. The Benefits Associate will act as a trusted guide for members, assisting them with benefit options, resolving concerns, and finding healthcare solutions. The team is driven by compassion, problem-solving, and a shared vision of making healthcare easier.

Requirements

  • At least one year of customer service or benefits experience.
  • Ability to listen, empathize, and explain complex topics clearly.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage inquiries efficiently, and keep track of critical details.
  • Comfortable using MS Word, Excel, and internal systems to research and document information.
  • Excited about gaining expertise in benefits administration, healthcare plans, and insurance coordination.
  • Comfortable handling a high volume of inbound calls while maintaining quality, accuracy, and exceptional customer service.
  • Able to navigate multiple systems simultaneously while actively listening and responding to member needs.
  • A private, HIPAA-compliant workspace where confidential member information cannot be viewed or overheard by others.
  • Sufficient desk space to accommodate a dual-monitor workstation, keyboard, mouse, headset, and other company-provided equipment.
  • A workspace that is professional and suitable for webcam use during meetings, training, and coaching sessions.
  • A reliable wired high-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 200 Mbps and upload speed of 100 Mbps.
  • The ability to work in a distraction-free environment free from excessive background noise that could impact member experience, productivity, or privacy compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, benefits administration, Medicare, COBRA, or customer service environments is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and emails, providing clear explanations about benefits, costs, and provider options.
  • Help members compare benefits during open enrollment, life changes, and coverage updates.
  • Assist members in resolving benefit-related issues, researching plan details, and ensuring they receive the care they need.
  • Place outbound calls for issues requiring further research, ensuring members receive timely updates and resolutions.
  • Stay informed on commercial plans, Medicare coordination of benefits, and group health plan structures to provide accurate, up-to-date guidance.
