About The Position

The Seafood Lead supports the seafood department and helps customers choose seafood by offering recommendations and answering questions. The role includes maintaining seafood displays and inventory, safely handling and storing products, packaging items, and keeping the department clean and organized. The Seafood Lead collaborates with store team members, participates in cross-training, and assists in other departments as needed to support store operations and consistent customer service.

Requirements

Ability to stand and be on one's feet during the workday.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Frequent reaching in all directions.
Ability to frequently push and pull heavy carts or pallet jacks.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a retail and/or customer service-oriented environment.
Knowledge of seafood products.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, assist them in selecting seafood, provide recommendations, and answer questions.
Follow safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure seafood is handled and stored properly.
Set and maintain the seafood case and displays.
Use first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices so older stock is sold first and waste is reduced.
Package food neatly and securely while maintaining product quality and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of department fixtures, storage areas, workstations, freezers, and coolers.
Work with other team members to support smooth store operations.
Participate in cross-training in other grocery departments, such as produce, bakery, and customer service.
Assist in other departments as needed and adapt to varying roles and responsibilities.
