About The Position

Earth Fare Team Members help customers have a fulfilling store visit by answering questions and meeting their shopping needs. They support Earth Fare’s mission of helping people live healthy lives by guiding customers toward healthy food and trusted products for wellbeing and the household.

The Seafood Lead provides customer service and product guidance in the seafood department, handles and stores seafood safely, maintains displays and inventory, packages products, and keeps the department clean and organized. The role also involves collaborating with the wider store team, cross-training in other grocery departments, and providing support where needed.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Frequent reaching in all directions.

• Experience working in a retail and/or customer service-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of seafood products.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and help them select seafood by providing recommendations and answering questions.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure seafood is handled and stored properly.
• Set and maintain the seafood case and displays.
• Use first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices so older stock is sold first and waste is reduced.
• Package food items neatly and securely while maintaining product quality and presentation.
• Provide knowledgeable advice about seafood offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the department, including fixtures, storage areas, workstations, freezers, and coolers.
• Work with other team members to support smooth store operations.
• Participate in cross-training in departments such as produce, bakery, and customer service.
• Assist in other departments as needed, adapting to varying roles and responsibilities.
