About The Position

The Seafood Lead supports Earth Fare’s mission of helping people live healthy lives by ensuring customers receive helpful service and can choose seafood and other products with confidence. The role involves maintaining seafood displays and inventory, handling and packaging products safely, keeping the department clean and organized, and collaborating with team members across the store. Team members may cross-train in departments such as produce, bakery, and customer service and assist other departments as needed.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing during the workday, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally, frequent reaching, and frequent pushing or pulling of heavy carts or pallet jacks.

Experience in a retail or customer-service-oriented environment.
Knowledge of seafood products.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, help them select seafood, provide recommendations, and answer questions.
Follow safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure seafood is handled and stored properly.
Set up and maintain the seafood case and displays.
Use first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices to sell older stock first and reduce waste.
Package food items neatly and securely while maintaining product quality and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the department, including fixtures, storage areas, workstations, freezers, and coolers.
Work with other team members to support smooth store operations and customer service.
Participate in cross-training in other grocery departments, including produce, bakery, and customer service.
Assist other departments as needed and adapt to varying roles and responsibilities.
