About The Position

As a member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family of companies, SpartanNash is a food solutions company that distributes grocery and household goods to locations in all 50 states. The Seafood Associate works independently to prepare, package, display, and stock seafood products while contributing to the financial best interest of the store. The role supports a positive guest experience and follows company safety and food safety guidelines. The associate may also be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.

Requirements

High school diploma preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.
Must be able to work with seafood without negative allergic consequences that adversely affect the ability to perform the job.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Basic mathematical skills.
Detail oriented.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Prepare and produce seafood products according to the production planner.
Package and label seafood products according to the program plan.
Merchandise seafood products according to the flight plan and merchandising expectations.
Stock the backroom with seafood products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
Notify the Seafood Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
Work with other departments and stores to support growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
Communicate completed tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps to other associates.
Follow personal protective equipment and safety guidelines.
Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
Follow guest experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments when assigned based on customer experience needs.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
