About The Position

The Scribe accompanies the physician into the patient exam room and accurately documents the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present. Documentation includes the patient’s history, physical exam, instructions, and disposition. The role requires basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, surgery, diagnostic tests, pharmacology, and medical specialties. The Scribe demonstrates professional conduct, supports a respectful and cooperative environment, understands team-based patient care and documentation, follows organizational policies, and proficiently navigates the electronic medical record. The position is scheduled for 20 hours per week, consisting of two 10-hour shifts, with varied shift times and an every-other-weekend and holiday commitment.

Requirements

• Excellent time management, organization, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with governing regulations.
• Knowledge of organizational policies and computer applications.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a medical terminology course preferred, or one year of medical terminology experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, surgery, diagnostic tests, pharmacology, and various medical specialties.
