About The Position

The Scribe accompanies physicians into patient exam rooms and accurately documents the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present, including the patient’s history, physical exam, instructions, and disposition. The role requires basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, surgery, diagnostic tests, pharmacology, and medical specialties. The Scribe navigates the electronic medical record, follows organizational policies, and supports a team-based approach to patient care and documentation while maintaining confidentiality and privacy. This position is scheduled for three 10-hour shifts per week, with varied shift times and an every-other-weekend and holiday commitment.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, surgery, diagnostic tests, pharmacology, and various medical specialties.
• Knowledge of organizational policies and computer applications.
• Proficiency navigating the electronic medical record.
• Excellent time management, organization, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with governing regulations.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical terminology course or one year of medical terminology experience in a clinical setting.
