The Scribe supports physicians and other health care providers in an emergency medicine setting while gaining firsthand clinical knowledge and experience. The role offers exposure for undergraduates and post-baccalaureate students pursuing healthcare careers, including those taking time off before medical, PA, or NP school. Scribe hours count toward clinical training for most PA and medical school programs. Scribes work one-on-one with physicians, develop proficiency in medical terminology, and have networking, resume-building, and alumni mentorship opportunities. The position is based at St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, California, a 463-bed nonprofit acute-care hospital. Its 23-bed Emergency Department sees approximately 82,000 visits annually and is a high-acuity main ED with pediatric patients. The hospital is a STEMI Receiving Center and Stroke Center, and Vituity scribe support is available. Applicants must complete the scribe application test. Those applying to multiple scribe positions do not need to take the eSkill assessment again unless they want to improve their score. Recruiters will contact applicants whose skills and experience best match an active opportunity. Due to high application volume, phone inquiries about application status cannot be answered.
