The Scientist independently designs, performs, and coordinates advanced laboratory and computational research supporting genomics programs focused on hematologic disorders and cancer predisposition. Research includes multi-omics studies spanning genomics, transcriptomics, and epigenomics, as well as genome editing. Key areas include characterizing genes and clonal lesions involved in clonal evolution and developing therapeutic base-editing strategies. The role develops and executes experimental strategies that combine wet-lab techniques with bioinformatics analyses, contributing to projects from discovery through data interpretation. The Scientist analyzes, interprets, and presents complex biological datasets and contributes to experimental design, protocol development, and scientific reporting. The ideal candidate has primary expertise in either wet-lab or computational biology and working knowledge of the complementary discipline. This position is in the Marcin Wlodarski Lab at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The lab studies genetic and genomic drivers of hematologic disorders and cancer predisposition, combining translational research, functional genomics, and computational approaches to understand disease mechanisms and improve patient outcomes. The lab PI directs the institution’s clinical Bone Marrow Failure Program and co-leads the PARADIGM gene editing program, connecting patient care with discovery science.
