About The Position

The Senior Scientist will join Bristol Myers Squibb’s Gene Delivery and Editing Process Development organization, supporting process development, production, and characterization of viral vectors used in cell therapies. The role helps advance next-generation viral vector platforms and clinical programs through experimental development, technology onboarding, process optimization, and scale-up support. The scientist will contribute across platform and program development, from early research-to-development transitions to late-stage process characterization, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners. The position may require occasional travel of up to 10% and involves handling hazardous materials.

  • Subject matter expertise in process development.
  • Expertise in viral vector process development.
  • Working knowledge of scale-up parameters for stirred-tank bioreactors.
  • Ability to design experiments using DoE approaches, execute DoE designs, and interpret results.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience interfacing with contract manufacturing and development organizations.
  • Clear, concise oral presentation and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to use literature and internal and external resources to solve problems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment with a growth mindset.
