Scientist, Biological Research - Oncology
About The Position
The Scientist will join a drug discovery team developing groundbreaking and best-in-class therapeutics for the treatment of prostate cancer. They will be a key contributor towards advancing research programs through various stages of preclinical drug discovery. This is a laboratory-based position requiring high productivity, effective and frequent collaboration with colleagues within the oncology group and other various cross-functional groups in the organization. This position requires versatility, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and high-level alignment with the Team leadership.
Requirements
- An M.S. with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a B.S. with at least 3 years of relevant experience, performing progressively advanced duties at the Associate Scientist level, or the equivalent training/experience
- Strong cell biology and assay development skills are required
- A robust background in cancer biology and drug discovery is required
- Previous experience screening and characterizing biologic and small molecule leads is required
- Proficiency with software such as GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, and Microsoft Office is required
- Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, excellent organizational and record-keeping skills

- Experience in Prostate cancer research is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Design and execute sophisticated in vitro experiments, and interpret data for validation and characterization of new therapeutic agents and targets to progress programs
- Support the generation of comprehensive and well-designed pre-clinical data packages in support of various programs, including for IND readiness for First-In-Human (FIH) studies
- Routinely perform cell biology techniques. Experience in cell culture, characterization of cell lines/tissue lysates by western blotting/qPCR/etc, cell proliferation assays including Incucyte-based assays, flow cytometry/FACS, CRISPR gene knockout and Lentiviral transduction of stable cell lines, cell imaging and other functional assays, etc. is needed.
- Analyze, prepare, and present data to internal stakeholders and project teams
- Work independently and perform multiple experiments simultaneously to generate robust data packages and align with scientific strategies and demands.
- Contribute to various projects outside of their own, and collaborate with team members from all relevant functions
- Keep up to date with the literature related to the field of prostate cancer
- Demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication
