About The Position

Serve as Biologics Research SME for Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Center for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR). Support the safe and effective scientific and administration of the laboratory and supporting staff. Manage work flow for junior staff. Review and verify data generated by the lab. Knowledgeable on and experienced in sterile tissue culture techniques, good laboratory practices and performing immunological assays to assess antibody and cellular immune responses (such as ELISA, IFA, Flow Cytometry, ELISpot,etc.) to support DHA relevant research priority areas. Track and maintain status of supply/reagent/sample and equipment inventories. Possess demonstrated knowledge of Molecular Devices, Inc. SoftMax software, BD FACS Diva software and Belysa software. Experience with writing and revising SOPs, risk assessments and study reports/summaries. Possess strong organization and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage a team of staff members. Proven record of co-authoring publications in peer-reviewed journals. Manage notebooks, data files, and perform data analysis.

Requirements

  • BS in a life science discipline
  • 5+ years of laboratory research experience related to performing experiment and data QA/QC
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting flow cytometers
  • Experience working with human and NHP samples
  • Experience performing sterile/tissue culture technique
  • Knowledgeable on and experienced in sterile tissue culture techniques
  • Knowledgeable on and experienced in good laboratory practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Molecular Devices, Inc. SoftMax software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of BD FACS Diva software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Belysa software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DoD, DHA, or WRAIR Biologics Research
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of staff members
  • Proven record of co-authoring publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong organization and project management skills
