Hours: 6:30 AM - 3:00PM. Monday - Friday Discover Impactful Work: Join our dedicated Scientific Support team at Unity Lab Services, providing tailored lab services and supply management. We seek an enthusiastic Lab Specialist to be responsible for chemical inventory, lab support functions like glasswash, and scientific support such as buffer preparation, ensuring labs are well-stocked, compliant, and operate efficiently. A day in the Life: Perform routine laboratory support activities across multiple functions, including delivery of dry ice, collection and distribution of glassware. Glassware washing and sterilization to ensure lab cleanliness and compliance with safety standards. May perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 year of work experience within a laboratory setting using Tunnel Washers, Miele Washers, and glassware dryer systems.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow SOPs, safety procedures, SDS documentation, safety procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards.
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.).
  • Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, safety glasses and steel-toe shoes, is often required.
  • The position requires regular lifting of 30-40 lbs. (up to 50 lbs. occasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts to move up to 150 lbs.
  • Standing, walking, and manual material handling (twisting, bending reaching, lifting) for prolonged periods, sometimes in varied temperature environments.
