About The Position

Under the direction of the Clinical Education Manager, the Scientific Communications Specialist will be responsible for initiating, developing, and executing scientific communication and education tools that cover topics in the areas of nutrition science, dietary supplementation, and human physiology. This role requires a scientific background with advanced training in nutrition science, the ability to interpret and critically assess the research literature, and excellent communication skills (writing, speaking, presenting).

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate in nutrition science or closely related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in scientific writing in a communications or technical role
  • Industry experience related to nutrition, dietary supplements, and/or health science
  • Advanced understanding of nutrition science and fluency in scientific and clinical nutrition terminology
  • Discernment and advanced capabilities in interpreting scientific research for strength, validity, methodology, sample size, reliability of data, and relevance
  • Proficiency in translating research data into meaningful, practical insights for healthcare providers of varied educational backgrounds
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and presenting scientific material via written and oral methods
  • The ability to independently develop white papers, product fact sheets, and other scientific education tools
  • Excellent communication skills: writing, speaking, and presenting in grammatically correct English
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Effectively translate research findings and scientific concepts into compelling educational tools for healthcare professionals (HCPs).
  • Ensure that scientific education tools are clinically relevant and aligned with the organization’s vision, strategy, and tactics.
  • Plan and develop white papers that integrate the findings from original research at Standard Process with the wider scientific literature.
  • Plan and develop technical product fact sheets and track fact sheets that need updates.
  • Interface with the internal R&D organization via consistent touchpoints and collaboration opportunities.
  • Represent the voice of Education and our HCP customers in the areas of new product development, clinical study planning, and claims development.
  • Develop HCP-focused content for Wholistic Matters and review content intended for nutrition enthusiasts.
  • Communicate the benefits of a whole-food approach to diet and nutritional supplementation.
  • Ensures that content and documentation comply with applicable regulations and quality standards and suggests appropriate corrective action.
  • Other duties and activities as assigned.
