About The Position

The School Nurse AHN position is a full-time role within the Navicent Health Medical Center's School Nursing Program. This role is responsible for administering medications, providing basic first aid, managing chronic health conditions, and maintaining student health records. The nurse will also develop relationships with parents and stakeholders within the school environment and document information in Power School.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in the State the teammate practices
• Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nurses
• Ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols with vision and hearing within normal range to respond to Code alerts and equipment alarms.

Responsibilities

• Administers OTC and prescription medications
• Provide basic first aid
• CPR training for staff
• Manage healthcare needs such as Asthma, Diabetes and Epilepsy as examples
• Develop and maintain relations with parents and stakeholders in the schools
• Document in Power School and keep medical information update
• Reviews and updates immunization and health records at the school
