About The Position

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated School Nurse to join their School Nursing Program. This full-time position involves managing the healthcare needs of students, administering medications, providing first aid, and maintaining health records. The role requires strong communication and documentation skills, working collaboratively with parents, stakeholders, and school staff. The nurse will be responsible for developing and implementing health plans for students with chronic conditions and ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in the State the teammate practices
• Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nurses
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Occasionally lifts and carries weight up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols with vision and hearing within normal range to respond to Code alerts and equipment alarms.
• Work-related stress due to volume and time constraints with irregular working hours.

Responsibilities

• Administers OTC and prescription medications
• Provide basic first aid
• CPR training for staff
• Manage healthcare needs such as Asthma, Diabetes and Epilepsy as examples
• Develop and maintain relations with parents and stakeholders in the schools
• Document in Power School and keep medical information update
• Reviews and updates immunization and health records at the school
