School Nurse (RN) – Per Diem

About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Rochester, New York, to provide skilled nursing care and health support to students throughout the school day. The nurse responds to students’ medical needs and emergencies and supports students with acute or chronic conditions, including pediatric diabetes. This per diem position offers available shifts that can fit the nurse’s schedule, with opportunities to work approximately 34 hours per week. Compensation is $42.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, with weekly pay and potential bonuses and incentives. The position includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) match, and paid sick leave. Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Current American Heart Association CPR/First Aid certification.
NYSED fingerprint clearance.
Experience caring for pediatric patients, including familiarity with pediatric diabetes management.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled nursing care and health support to students throughout the school day.
Respond to students’ medical needs and emergencies.
Monitor students’ health status and provide appropriate nursing support for acute or chronic conditions, including pediatric diabetes.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Collaborate with teachers, school staff, families, and healthcare providers to communicate health needs and coordinate student care.
