Registered Nurse RN - Per Diem
About The Position
United Methodist Communities (UMC) is hiring a per diem Registered Nurse to care for short-term rehabilitation residents at The Shores in Ocean City, New Jersey. Residents are recovering from surgery, illness, or a hospital stay, and many are working toward returning home. The role offers $45.33 per hour and 12-hour day shifts on an as-needed basis. The RN monitors residents’ health, administers medications and treatments, coordinates transitions of care, and works with physicians, therapists, and rehabilitation teams to support recovery. The nurse also provides residents and families with updates, education, and support. Employment offers are contingent on a background check and drug screen. A flu vaccine is required, with medical or religious exemptions available.
Requirements
- Active RN license valid in New Jersey.
- At least 1 year of experience as an RN.
- Ability to produce a negative drug test.
- Satisfactory performance of the essential functions of the position.

- Experience in subacute care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or hospital medical-surgical care.
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents’ health status, recognize changes, and take appropriate action.
- Administer medications and treatments according to care plans and clinical guidelines.
- Coordinate admissions, transitions, and discharges to support continuity of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident outcomes.
- Partner with rehabilitation teams to monitor progress and help residents achieve recovery goals.
- Build positive relationships with residents and families by providing updates, education, and support.
