School Nurse RN - Contract Employee 3231 (School Health)
About The Position
The School Nurse provides nursing services focusing on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health, and maintenance of the health of individuals and populations. The incumbent works independently, in a variety of settings to include schools, within the agency following the guidelines contained in the current Clinical Service Guide (CSG). Services in the school setting include but are not limited to the following: mandated public health and school health services that includes treatment coverage, vision screenings, immunization consultation, medication and chronic disease training and monitoring, health fairs, documentation of student visits and data entry.
Requirements
- Nursing Diploma, Associates Nursing Degree or Bachelors Nursing Degree or Masters Degree
- Valid Registered Nursing License
- Basic Life Support CPR
- Appropriate level Incident Command System (ICS) must be obtained within one year of appointment.
Responsibilities
