About The Position

The School Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout a school in Cleveland, Ohio. The role involves cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas; caring for floors and surfaces; replenishing supplies; and following safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals. The cleaner also reports damage, repair needs, and safety hazards, secures the building after cleaning, and completes other duties assigned by the supervisor. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at $14.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to adjust cleaning routines as needed.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a BCI/FBI background check.

Nice To Haves

• Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial work.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors as needed.
• Empty trash bins and replace liners.
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Refill soap dispensers, paper towels, and other supplies.
• Report damages, repairs, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Follow proper safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals appropriately.
• Lock doors and windows after cleaning to secure the building.
• Perform other cleaning duties as assigned by the supervisor.
