About The Position

The School Cleaner maintains cleanliness and sanitation in a school in Cleveland, Ohio. The role cleans classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas; handles floor care, dusting, waste removal, and replenishing supplies; and reports damage, needed repairs, or safety hazards. The cleaner follows safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and secures the building by locking doors and windows after cleaning. Other cleaning duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at $14.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to adjust cleaning routines as needed.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a BCI/FBI background check.

Nice To Haves

• Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial work.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors as needed.
• Empty trash bins and replace liners.
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Refill soap dispensers, paper towels, and other supplies.
• Report damage, repairs, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Follow safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals appropriately.
• Lock doors and windows after cleaning to secure the building.
• Perform other cleaning duties assigned by the supervisor.
